GOC was founded in 1948 in Goldston, North Carolina, by Arthur Forbes Gaines, a respected sawmill operator and community leader. What began as a small heating oil distributor quickly grew under the leadership of his son, Jerry Gaines, into a multi-faceted petroleum distribution company.
For more than 50 years, the company served as an ESSO location (now recognized as Exxon), building a reputation for reliability, fairness, and unmatched customer care.
Today, GOC Fuel & Energy Solutions remains proudly family-owned and operated, now led by third-generation owner Todd Gaines. The company’s 75-year success is built on the same pillars Arthur Gaines established long ago — honesty, hard work, and service to the community.
